Q: What are your hours of operation?
A. Thursday – Sunday / 11am to 7pm
Depending on instructor availability, private lessons may be scheduled outside of these times.
Q: What days do you do Blow Your Own Glass? When can I pick up my piece?
A. Friday – Sunday / Our first appointment starts at 11am and our last appointment starts at 6pm.
We sometimes go a little later depending on the number of people in your group.
Q: Can children participate in Blow Your Own Glass?
A. Yes. We have all ages participating under safe moderation.
Q: I bought a voucher from a deal site, where do I enter my voucher number?
A. When scheduling online, enter your voucher code in the PROMO/DISCOUNT CODE box and specify which site you purchased the deal through.
If you do not cancel your appointment 24 hours in advance you forfeit your voucher. We only accept one voucher per person, per week. Taxes are not included in the voucher price and will be collected upon arrival. 18% gratuity is added automatically for groups of 4 or more.
Q: What times and days are your classes?
A. Classes are by appointment only. We try to give you the time and date you request as much as possible.
Please call the studio to schedule: 206-557-7883 or email us at email@example.com.
Q: What can I make during my private glass blowing class?
A. Usually one or two pieces per person, and they are normally a large paper weight, small bowl, vase, or something similar.
If you have something in mind, feel free to talk to your teacher about what you want to make. If you are doing private rental or instruction time, then you can work with our staff to make whatever is on your agenda.
Q: Should I bring anything to my class?
A. We suggest bringing a pair of sunglasses and water/something to drink.
Q: When can I pick up my piece?
Your piece will be available the Friday after it was blown, and will be held for 30 days.
We sort items by the date that you were in the studio. Please try and remember the date you were in so that we may better serve you.
Q: What happens if my piece breaks during the cooling process?
A. We will call you to let you know that we need to remake your piece and when it will be available for pick up. We will make it the exact same style and colors that you did.
Sometimes pieces break in the annealer ( a process of heating and slow cooling in order to toughen and reduce brittleness.) or when we are cold working them, (smoothing the rough edges.)
Q: Do you do custom pieces?
A. Yes! Send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with the colors and dimensions you want.
We will get back to you with a quote from the artist who best fits your needs.
Q: What should I wear?
A. Please wear closed-toed shoes and a light, cotton shirt to the studio. If you have long hair, be sure it is tied back.
Q: Do the glass artists accept tips?
A. Yes, generally an 18% – 20% tip is considered an acceptable amount.
Q: Can I take pictures or video while I am at Rainier Glass Studio?
A. Of course you can!
We encourage you to take pictures and video and always appreciate when we are tagged in your photos on Facebook and Instagram.
